Why This, Why Now?
Over the last decade, I have noticed with some alarm that in the leather community it is often people who have never had a healthy M/s relationship who are teaching classes on Master/slave relationship dynamics.
Often these are people who have never worn or given a collar or tags, they have a complete inability to communicate with their dominant, they may abuse drugs or alcohols, or perhaps they are entertaining.
Why would a community of people that pride themselves on their openness, their integrity, their ability to communicate needs clearly, give the privilege of teaching workshops on how to have successful M/s or D/s relationships to someone who has never had a successful relationship? I find this alarming because the question begs to be asked – “Can people who need help getting their relationship on the right footing rely on the things they are taught in these classes?”
It does not matter if a person is a community “personality.” If they have been unable to communicate clearly with their own partners – what can they teach anyone else about “communications?” Theory, I guess.
If they have never worn the collar of a slave, what do they have to teach anyone about being owned?
If they cannot accept responsibility for their own failed relationships what do they have to teach you about honor, integrity, or respect?
They certainly have little to say about having successful relationships.
If you are here because you are considering with careful study and forethought entering into a Master/slave – Owner/property relationship, I hope you find some answers here.
Let the Journey begin.
